The Department of Periodontics at Stomatology Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, is a department specialized in the treatment, education, and research of periodontal diseases. With a group of high-quality medical staff, it has become a unique dental specialty in southern Zhejiang Province. The department is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases, including gingivitis, periodontitis, gingival recession, combined endodontic-periodontal lesion, periodontitis as a manifestation of systemic diseases, along with interdisciplinary management of  periodontal  diseases revelent to prosthotic, orthodontic, and implant treatment. The department is committed to treatment including periodontal scaling and root planing, fixation of loose teeth, gingivectomy, periodontal flap surgery, periodontal tissue regeneration surgery, crown lengthening surgery and plastic surgeries for the management of gingival recession. Furthermore, a large number of advanced equipment, the Swiss made EMS ultrasonic scaler and AIR-FLOWair polisher, for instance, are employed in the treatment, and strict sterilization and disinfection procedures are being followed.
