The Department of Oral Prevention at School & Hospital of Stomatology WMU, was established in 2018. It is a specialty department in Zhejiang Province, specializing in the prevention, health care and diagnosis & treatment of children's oral diseases. The department has a high-level medical team. Currently, it has 16 doctors, including 1 deputy chief physician and 4 attending physicians. And there are 2 doctors, 1 doctoral candidates and 13 masters. Among them, 4 doctors have conducted further study abroad and at home. At present, it has 17 advanced dental units for comprehensive oral treatment with reception of over 30000 patients every year.

  The patients in our department are mainly children aged 0-14 years. Main treatment scope, treatment techniques and scientific research: the children's oral health education and consultation, the comprehensive prevention and control of children caries, the diagnosis and treatment of children (including underage deciduous teeth and teen-aged youths’permanent teeth) pulpal peroapical diseases, the painless minimally invasive treatment technique, the diagnosis and treatment of children's teeth trauma and dysplasia, the early intervention of abnormal occlusion for children, the children's oral health management, the diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases for disabled children, the diagnosis and treatment of genetic disorders of children's performance in the oral cavity, oral health promotion and education, oral health knowledge and oral health care measures of individual and group education, etc. Oral preventive medicine involves all aspects of oral medicine, through preventing or reducing the occurrence and development of oral diseases, in order to achieve the purpose of preserving healthy teeth and promoting oral health. The Department not only provides in-hospital prevention and treatment service for patients with oral diseases, but also undertakes tasks of the design, guidance, supervision and implementation of comprehensive intervention project for children's dental caries in Wenzhou.
